Another Monogram Card

Work has been really busy for me lately. I was in my office until 11:00 p.m. last night trying to catch up and then I had to run home to watch some of the Olympics! I’m trying to eat my lunch right now and quickly type up an entry for the blog.

This is another monogram card that I made for Marsha’s Bridal Shower. It is just a really simple design. I used Rose Red and Whisper White card stock along with the now retired Bali Breeze DSP and Groovy Guava cardstock. The C monogram is from the classy “Lovely Letters” alphabet set. I also used some really retired SU ribbon that I still had around the craft room. I used pop-up dots on the smaller panel and the monogram circles. I sponged Rose Red ink around the edges of the Groovy Guava to add some more dimension to the card. I absolutely love Stampin’ Up!’s punches. I have almost everyone one of them. In this card I used the 1 1/4” and 1” circle punches. Oh yeah – I stamped the “C” in Rose Red classic ink.

I placed an order of new stuff all for myself J on August 11 as soon as the new catalog ordering system was up and ready to go. I’ve been watching the status of the order and it has finally made it to the picking stage! I can’t wait to get my new stuff and play with it. I’m having an open house for the new catalog on September 6, so I want to get it all ready for it. I’m hoping I will have a big crowd.

Until the next blog entry!

I'm back!

The new Fall-Winter Idea Book and Catalog from Stampin’ Up! is here!! I’m so excited about this catalog. I have gotten so excited about this new book I’ve already started planning a lot of different events.

For those of you who have been viewing my very small blog – I’m sorry that I haven’t been adding anything to it these last few months. I’ve been very busy with the care of a sick family member since October 2007. Since I work full time and do my SU demonstratorship part-time, something had to give. Everything is more balanced now, so I’ve made a promise to myself to get my stamping blog going again.

A friend of mine is getting married in September so I’ve been helping her and her sister with some of the “wedding things”. I’m working on designing her wedding programs right now. But first I want to share a picture of an idea I helped her sister come up with……

Lettie wanted to use these great organza drawstring bags for favors at a bridal shower she was holding for her sister Marsha, the bride. I came up with the idea of stamping the monogram “C” from Stampin’ Up!’s Lovely Letters alphabet set on the front. We used SU’s Whisper White Craft Pad. The picture doesn’t give it justice. It looked so much better laying on the white cloth napkin at each place setting. Lettie also filled each bronze colored bag with pink strawberry flavored malt balls.

I made some monogram cards for Marsha as part of her shower gift. Below is a picture of one of the cards I made. I’ll share more pictures in the next few days.

This card was CASED from Dawn McVey at dawnmcvey.typepad.com. She is one of my favorite stamping bloggers. I love looking at her site every day.

The SU products I used are: Berry Bliss DSP (retired); Kraft and Pretty in Pink cardstock; Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink grosgrain ribbon; Paper Piercer; 1/8” hand held punch, Scallop Edge punch and Tag Corner punch; and Lovely Letters and Together Forever stamp sets.

The butterfly punch is from Martha Stewart and I used some rhinestone gems I bought at Michaels.

I’ll be back tomorrow with more cards to share with you!

Last Day for Sale-A-Bration

I can't believe this is the last day for Stampin' Up!'s Sale-A-Bration. Time has gone by so fast. But it has been a wonderful ride! I loved all the stamp sets that were available during this time - I have everyone! It isn't too late though. You have until 11:00 tonight (March 17) to get your free stamp set with a $50 order.

Since time is running out, I thought I would share with you two cards that I made with some of this years Sale-A-Bration sets.

This card was made using the Friendship Blooms stamp set and the Love & Happiness Rub-ons. I used Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi cardstock. This is also one of the rare times that I haven't used Whispering White or Very Vanilla on my card! I rubbed one of the white flowers onto the Pumpkin Pie and cut out the flower. I then used a stampin dimensional and a blue button to add more dimension to the card. The white flower stem is also a rub-on. And the text is stamped in Basic Black. I also used the 5/8" inch Chocolate Chip grosgrain and Wild Wasabi Double Stitched grosgrain ribbon on the card. This is also another rare thing for me....I don't have a knot tied with the ribbon. :)

The last card is made using the Sale-A-Brations Birthday Whimsy. I used Bashful Blue again with Basic Black and Whispering White cardstock. I also used some of Stampin' Up!'s great designer series paper, Cutie Pie. I stamped the balloons in Bashful Blue and Rose Red. I cut out some of the balloons and layered them using mini glue dots and stampin dimensionals to add the extra dimension to the card. I also used linen thread for the balloon strings. I then stamped the text in Basic Black and used my paper piercer to make the text look like it was floating in the air with the balloons. I tied a knot this time in using Bashful Blue 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. I made this card a few weeks ago and have just pulled it out to share with you. I'm pretty sure that I have cased it from another person's card on splitcoaststampers.com, but I'm really sorry that I can't remember who's card it was to give them full credit.

As always - all the products and stamps are Stampin' Up! I hope you enjoyed my final tribute to Stampin' Up!'s Sale-A-Bration 2008. ~Tricia

Time Well Spent

I haven't been able to stamp lately so I'm going through withdraws. My grandmother had to go into the hospital for a few days so I've been away from my stamp room. On the plus side though, I had lots of time to cut out stamps sets that I had bought recently. My grandmother is back home and doing well thankfully.

I've been looking through my pictures of cards I had made and found this one that I hadn't posted.
This was my first 6x6 card. I actually made it for my great-aunt who had been sick. My grandmother wanted to send her some family pictures so I had to come up with a card big enough to send the pictures in.

I used the Time Well Spent Level 3 hostess set and retired Thinking of You stamp. The base cardstock is Rose Red with other layers of Rose Red, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White. I also used Berry Bliss DSP. I just love that paper packet!

I watercolored the flower using the Rose Red and Pretty in Pink reinkers and the Aqua Painter. I also used a felt flower from the new Flower Fusion set and attached it with a Pretty in Pink brad.

I hope you enjoyed your visit to you site today. I'm hoping to get some time to stamp tomorrow.

Easter Treats

When I think of Easter, I have flashbacks of pretty dresses, white shiny shoes and Easter baskets filled with candy. Splitcoaststampers.com has a tutorial this week for a mini treat basket. So I thought I would try to make a mini Easter basket.
I used Pixie Pink cardstock as my base and designer series paper from the Berry Bliss DSP packet. I used the "so sweet of you" stamp from the Sale-A-Brations So Many Scallops stamp set along with my Scallop punch.
I decorated the grograin ribbon handle and the middle of the scallop with flowers from the 3 Flower Punch. Then I used buttons to add some dimension to the flowers and handle.
As always, all the images and products are from Stampin' Up! I hope you enjoyed looking and it brought back images of when you were little at Easter also. ~ Tricia

Feeling Challenged Again

This time I tried this weeks splitcoaststampers.com challenge. The color challenge is to use Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi and So Saffron (CC 156). I also tried the card layout challenge SC 166.

I just got Stampin' Up!'s One of a Kind stamp set and I couldn't wait to ink it up. I also used the coordinating punch, Boho Blossoms.

The snow is almost all gone now and Monday morning isn't too far away. This weekend has gone by too fast.

I hope you enjoyed the card. Thanks for looking! - Tricia

A Snowy Day Challenge

It is a really nice snowy, lazy day here. I've gotten into a creative mood watching the snow fall from the window of my craft room. So I decided to try one of the Splitcoaststampers.com challenges.

I just bought the stamp set A Light Unto My Path and thought the SCS color challenge CC155 would be a great one to try it with. The color challenge was to use River Rock, Basic Black and Whisper White. I love the dramatic effect it creates. I also used the flower pin and white beads from the Pretties Kit.

I recently bought the Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 program to add a 'created by' watermark to my card pictures. But I'm having a hard time uploading the new edited picture to my blog. I'm not very patient so I got tired of trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. So I just decided to upload an unedited photo instead.

I'm trying to be better about updating my blog. So stay tuned for more pictures!

Thanks for stopping by.
Tricia
